Two Storey Extension, Increase in First Floor including Raising the Roof and Providing New Staircase at a Detached Dwelling, West Midlands

We were approached by our client who had been refused planning permission for substantial alterations and extensions to their home. This application had been submitted by another agent. We advised that we could challenge the reasons for refusal at appeal and advised that this was the best way forward with the project. We lodged a planning appeal along with a detailed supporting statement. The appeal was successful and planning permission was granted.

The client wanted to make change the proposed plans slightly and needed to re-apply for planning permission. Once again this application was submitted by the other agent and planning permission was refused. Our client instructed us to take this revised application to appeal. A planning appeal was submitted once again along with a supporting statement of case. The appeal was allowed and planning permission was granted.

We were then appointed to submit a building regulations application. We produced a full measured survey of the dwelling and produced a set of detailed proposal drawings incorporating the structural engineers drawings. We produced a detailed specification and section drawings. A building regulations application was submitted and subsequently approved. The works have now been completed and an additional sun lounge has been added to the rear of the dwelling under ‘permitted development rights’.
