MOT & Car Repairs Garage, West Midlands

Our client had lodged an application themselves and been refused planning permission for a change of use from general car repair garage to car repairs and MOT station. The reason for refusal clearly indicated that demonstrating the maneuverability of vehicles within the confines of the building had not been addressed in the original application.

We were appointed to provide a revised application. We carried out a measured survey of the building and produced a set of survey drawings. We discussed the details of the proposed layout with the applicant and produced a revised layout which met his needs and addressed the concerns of the planning authority. This revised layout also included vehicle tracking which showed how the layout worked and specifically how vehicles would move within the building.

The planning application drawings were submitted and planning permission was subsequently granted. The business subsequently expanded to incorporate its new services.
